Getting a rise

Richard has posted a piece I guess in an attempt to get a rise out of some people. The article is We Can Do Without Irish . Makes me want to write a post about we can do without classical music or arts subjects. :)

You know, I think I'm going to rise to the bait.

Already rose to it, as have others. You're right though, he's just looking to rise people to get hits. Bit sad really.

I've finished my venting, if anybody's interested. It's a long piece because I'd a lot to get off my chest.

Big deal. He's just ripping off Kevin Myers in the independant last week, who has the ability to make me agree with him and disagree with him at the same time. I love the irish language, but i dislike the sentimentality associated with all things irish, particularly abroad..

@michael: I'd've written much the same article myself in response to Myers had I been whipped up enough at the time. I agree with you when it comes to sentimentality; that kind of nonsense makes me cringe to no end.
