Irish Times on CJ Haughey

The Irish Times have a special CJ Haughey. Funny how quickly they got it up and designed

Like most obituaries it was probably written and set-up ages ago.

I think it was a couple of years ago someone stumbled across a directory on the New York Times website crammed full of obits for living people.

Unless you're suggesting someone in the Irish Times knocked him off...

Well, it's not like they didn't see this coming, is it?

I suppose it's you could question the haste with which the whole 'Haughey special' piece on the IT website was set up (or, rather, was made public - we know it was set up some time ago). But if we're going to point fingers at the Irish Times, let's not forget all those tributes paid by various different politicians, of all parties.

Like John O'Donoghue's recent misfortune with the Eurovision press release, these will all have been written ages ago (certainly they would at least have been prepared the last time it looked like Haughey was going to die), so if the IT acted with undue speed (and what could be considered 'due speed') then isn't everyone who dusted off a well-prepared comment equally guilty.

TBH, it's all a bit something-and-nothing.

Hey smiffy, when did you write that comment. It seems suspiciously fresh...

I've had my team of sub-editors working on it since 2004, just in case ...

Didn't the IT put it up by accident a couple of months ago? Just for a few hours? Apparently, someone at ireland.com made a glitch, and the Sunday Independent were on it like a shot.
